Tracie Hudson ~~ Mini Book

Mini Book - by Tracie Hudson

Acrylic albums appear to be very popular at the moment so I decided I would put one together using some transparent sheets of acetate I had sitting in my workroom.

I cut the transparent sheets of acetate to 5 x7 in size and then created double sided mini layouts which measured 3x5 in size. These were then sandwiched between two sheets of the acetate.

Using a large paper clip to hold the layout in a secure position, I used my sewing machine to sew the acetate sheets together.

The sheets could also be secured together by using eyelets threaded with floss or could even be hand sewn using floss or fibre to add a different texture.

Additional embellishments such as blooms, chipboard, buttons and ribbons were then added to each of the pages and were adhered on top of the acetate.

Bookrings decorated with co-ordinating ribbons were used to bind the pages together.

Rubons added to the surface of the acetate add a sense of dimension. I used Stickles to add a glittery frosted effect to the chipboard title to tie in with the snowy wintry feel of the mini book.

These books make a quick and easy gift for friends and family and can be adapted to meet a wide variety of theme.
