Advent Tree

I loved this tree when Caroline sent it to me. I didn’t want to use it, I just wanted to covet it.
With Christmas looming I’m all for trying out new ideas for the home and this tree project just pinged in my head one day and I couldn’t wait to tackle the job.
I painted each leaf green and the branches and trunk were coloured in brown. I made a large circle base from green cardstock and I glued the tree within.

I counted out 24 red and 24 lime green brads and fastened 12 red and 12 green brads (loosely, so that I could hang the 24 tiny tags easily) around the leafy area.
I covered 3/4 of a sheet of 12x12 cardstock (use any colours, it all gets hidden) in Basic Greys Figgy Pudding snowflake paper to mimic a snowy sky and then using a plain whitish basic grey cardstock sheet, I cut out hills and clouds, distressed the edges and adhered to the 12x12 sheet.
I stuck the tree on the right hand hill and then dotted my spare brads to follow the hillside shape. I then took a piece of 2x7inch leftover snowflake cardstock and adhered bazzill ruffly gingham ribbon behind it and stuck it in the lower portion of the 12x12 cardstock.

I used Loopy Lou alpha stickers to spell out love peace and joy that will be revealed in full once the tags have all been hung on the tree.
The delight on my visiting family’s faces this weekend told me that I might have to make another two and with it being relatively simple to make, I don’t think I'll mind!
